Of the nine VIP 727-200's with the $10 million Super 27 re-engining package, S/N 22825 the second youngest. Never in airline operation since entering service in 1983, kept in an air-conditioned hangar while a head of state aircraft, and maintained at Jet Aviation as well as other premier facilities including Lufthansa Technik, the aircraft's pedigree can not be questioned.
Because the Super 727-200's cabin is 12 ft longer than the BBJ with 2 times its baggage capacity, as well as approximating the BBJ2's cabin volume, owners rarely part with them. This Super 27-200 was retrofitted with two brand new -217C outboard engines, giving the aircraft approximately 10-15% lower fuel burn, 20% shorter runway capability, and 23% shorter time to climb than the standard 727-200. Range out of elevated fields can double, making it the perfect VIP airliner for high and hot operation
When s/n 22825 was replaced with a BBJ in late 2006, its new owner decided to transform the existing 45 passenger interior into the ultimate comfort for a tri-jet executive airliner. The new designer interior uses sumptuous materials & fittings in the tones of this interior photo, and features the latest entertainment systems including a 30" Rosen plasma screen in the main lounge, with smaller plasma's in the other passenger areas. |
