Pacific Coast Air Museum Air Show Wings over Wine Country

When: Saturday, September 26, 2015
Where: Santa Rosa, CA (USA)

What: The Wings Over Wine Country Air Show is presented by the Pacific Coast Air Museum (PCAM) as a family-friendly community event. The air show is held at the Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport on the third weekend in August each year. It is a fundraiser for PCAM as well as for several other nonprofit organizations including Scout Troops, the Civil Air Patrol, and the 99s. In 2012, the air show was attended by over 20,000 guests. Wings Over Wine Country began in 1990, when 21 enthusiastic historic airplane "buffs" attended the Pacific Coast Air Museum Open House at the Sonoma County Airport. More showed up every year, and the Open House became an air show in 1997 when it moved to the South Ramp of the airport and hosted its first aerial performer, famed aviatrix Amelia Reid, in her Cessna 150 Aerobat. In 2008, the air show moved to the airport ramp north of the Horizon Airlines terminal where it is currently held each year. It is now the premier aviation event in California's North Coast area, and one of the best overall in Northern California.

Livermore Airport Open House & Air Show

When: Saturday, October 3, 2015
Where: Livermore, CA (USA)

What: The City of Livermore, Airport staff and tenants have in past years always invited the Tri-Valley community to celebrate their annual Airport Open House and Air Show on the first Saturday of each October from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM at the Livermore Municipal Airport. The Open House features exhibits, food, entertainment, and a fabulous display of aircraft. Unfortunately, for 2014 we must cancel the event, but for very exciting reasons! After a period of over 25 years without any aviation facilities being constructed at the Livermore Airport, three successive building construction projects are now scheduled. Construction of the new Airport Administration building and restaurant is already underway. The construction plans for Livermore Aviation Services' 6-unit corporate hangar facility are being reviewed for building permit issuance and this project is anticipated to break ground in June or July. Plus, the site plan and design for the first phase of Five Rivers Aviation's FBO facility was reviewed and approved by the Planning Commission, and construction is anticipated to commence in July or August.
