The 8 different formations include flying just 18 inches apart in formation and solo displays. “The air show is an Owensboro tradition and we are proud to welcome the Thunderbirds,” said Shannon Wetzel, executive director of Visit Owensboro. “What makes our show so unique is it takes place at the downtown riverfront for everyone to see.”

NBAA PDP Course: Regulatory Compliance and Documentation

This course is designed to give flight department personnel an overview of the various federal and state regulatory requirements facing aircraft owners and operators, and methods for compliance with those requirements. The course will expose students to the major compliance requirements of the DOT, FAA, IRS, TSA, OSHA, DOA and many other federal and state agencies. Students will then work through recordkeeping techniques and best practices and discuss audit standards and safety management systems. The course culminates in an exercise in which students are asked to put their knowledge into practice to address several common scenarios facing flight departments. This course meets NBAA PDP Objective Ops3.

Pacific Coast Air Museum Air Show Wings over Wine Country

What: The Wings Over Wine Country Air Show is presented by the Pacific Coast Air Museum (PCAM) as a family-friendly community event. The air show is held at the Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport on the third weekend in August each year. It is a fundraiser for PCAM as well as for several other nonprofit organizations including Scout Troops, the Civil Air Patrol, and the 99s. In 2012, the air show was attended by over 20,000 guests. Wings Over Wine Country began in 1990, when 21 enthusiastic historic airplane "buffs" attended the Pacific Coast Air Museum Open House at the Sonoma County Airport. More showed up every year, and the Open House became an air show in 1997 when it moved to the South Ramp of the airport and hosted its first aerial performer, famed aviatrix Amelia Reid, in her Cessna 150 Aerobat. In 2008, the air show moved to the airport ramp north of the Horizon Airlines terminal where it is currently held each year. It is now the premier aviation event in California's North Coast area, and one of the best overall in Northern California.
