What: At 7pm to 8:30pm, the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum’s free August Aviation Speaker Series held in the Lockheed Martin Auditorium 4 blocks from the Museum, brings the return of author and veteran astronaut Tom Jones as he discusses Flak Bait, the most famous B-26 of World War II, and his visit to Ohio to see the restoration of a Marauder. Flying out of the Glenn L. Martin Company in April, 1943, this Marauder survived 207 operational missions over Europe, more than any other American aircraft during World War II. Although admission is free, a photo ID is required for entry into the facility. Following his presentation, Dr. Jones will be selling and signing copies of his book.

Wichita's long history with aviation traces back to the beginnings of Beechcraft, Cessna, and Stearman Aircraft companies in the early 1920s and '30s.
